Hope Town, Bahamas Disaster Relief

After Hurricane Dorian ripped through the Bahamas last year, much of the island was left in ruins, forcing people to evacuate or move to government shelters. Premiere’s very own, Anthony Rivera from our Charleston, SC office, recently traveled down to Hope Town, Bahamas to assist with disaster relief by providing homemade meals to those in need. The crew arrived in time to cook meals for Thanksgiving – which meant turkey and all the fixin’s!

Anthony Rivera, one of Premiere Communications & Consulting’s Charleston team members, helped prepare and serve home cooked meals for those affected by Hurricane Dorian.

Anthony made the trip with Southeast Rescue and Relief, a non-profit organization committed to assisting those in need in the aftermath of storms, as well as ahead of their devastation. Southeast Rescue and Relief was founded by MasterChef Season 10’s Jamie Hough (Top 9). Anthony had the pleasure of cooking alongside MasterChef Season 10’s Noah Sims (Top 4).

Anthony was in the top 36 of the 20,000 contestants from Season 10 of MasterChef!

Here are some of the photos from Anthony’s trip:

The crew served an average of 250 meals per day and 600 meals on Thanksgiving! Jamie Hough smoked the turkeys stateside and then sent them to the Southeast R&R team for the final cook on the turkey breasts. All of the sides were prepared by Anthony and the other volunteers.

This is where the magic happened! Thousands of meals were made here in this kitchen

We’re so thankful for Anthony and his support to assist those who were affected by Hurricane Dorian. Not only did he volunteer his time, he was able to use his passion for cooking to provide home cooked meals to those who need it most. Thank you, Anthony! We’re lucky to have you!
