Case Study: Credit Suisse
Overview
Expanding to RTP in 2004, Switzerland's second largest bank sought to diversify its operations and lower its costs. Premiere's sales team introduced their services to Credit Suisse during the lease of space on the Premiere supported Cisco RTP campus. The relationship developed and has led to 2 progressive structured cabling systems installations.
Objectives
Credit Suisse Center of Excellence
In 2006, the Credit Suisse Center of Excellence required a bid from a SYSTIMAX® Certified Installer. Premiere Communications & Consulting, Inc. was tasked to route in excess of 500,000 ft. of SYSTIMAX® 2071 series Category 6 cable, 12- and 24-strand Corning 50/125 μm multimode fiber and 56 Ortronics Cable Distribution Frames in a 4-story single-tenant facility.
Credit Suisse Data Center
The 2007 Credit Suisse Data Center's (now owned by Fidelity Investments) scope of work was one of the most ambitious commercial projects Premiere had been tasked with to date. The planned infrastructure consisted of 620 Cooper B-Line cabinets, in excess of 1.4 million feet of SYSTIMAX® 2071 series Category 6 cable, over 100,000 ft. of Corning fiber and a staff of field technicians dedicated to their craft.
Solution
Partnering with the general contractor and the customer, Premiere installed, tested and provided extensive closeout documents as part of quality assurance. Premiere field operations adhered to TIA standards-based installations that help the customer to maintain their circuit-id and user record-keeping.
Working with Credit Suisse, BE and K Construction and a consulting firm in New York, Premiere adhered to strict corporate design standards and help build an impressive copper and fiber infrastructure for the Credit Suisse Data Center in the Research Triangle Park. The installation team worked with other trade; including service providers for the diverse routing of entrance facility cabling.
Results
Premiere, Inc. has established a long-term relationship with this customer and has staffed a technician on-site to perform moves, adds, and changes since January 2008. This includes supporting the Credit Suisse IT staff with physical layer connectivity to ensure uninterrupted critical data needs are met.
The North Carolina and New York connection established before and during this project has enabled Premiere, Inc. to grow the business to areas outside the continental United States to include The Bahamas.
